The Baccalaureate Assessment test for University Access 2023 is structured in two parts: the Mandatory Phase and the Voluntary Phase.
strong>EBAU 2023 Mandatory Phase
During this phase, a thorough evaluation of the mandatory subjects of the educational stage is carried out . Likewise, common subjects that are directly related to a specific modality of the baccalaureate are evaluated.
These are the 4 common exams (5 if the autonomous community has a co-official language) that are carried out in the Compulsory Phase:
- Spanish Language and Literature II: You will examine your command of the Spanish language, as well as the understanding and analysis of literary texts. In addition, knowledge of syntactic analysis is tested.
- History of Spain: Knowledge and understanding of the historical, political, and cultural events of Spain are evaluated.
- First Foreign Language II: You can choose between English, French, Italian or German.
- A subject corresponding to the type of baccalaureate you have taken: In the Autonomous Communities of Asturias, the Canary Islands and Andalusia you can choose the subject with complete freedom. In the rest of the Autonomous Communities, you must choose the subject according to the Baccalaureate you have completed.
- In the case of the Baccalaureate of Sciences, you will take the Mathematics II exam.
- In the Bachelor of Social Sciences, you will take the Mathematics exam applied to Social Sciences.

- Co-official language: This exam applies only to Autonomous Communities with a co-official language. These are Galicia (Galician), Catalonia (Catalan), Basque Country (Basque) and the Valencian Community (Valencian).
The score for each exam is from 0 to 10.
EBAU 2023 Voluntary Phase
This phase is completely optional and allows you to add up to 4 points to your access grade, so it is highly recommended that you take it if the career you want to study is in high demand.
In this phase you must choose the subjects of the modality to which you will apply. That is, within the elective subjects that you have taken during this academic year, it is recommended that you take the exams that have the most points when it comes to taking the average and that can help you enter the career you want.
If you want to know which subjects earn you the most points, consult the weighting tables of the universities to which you plan to apply. Typically, the weights are 0.01 or 0.2 (the maximum).
For the Voluntary Phase, you will be able to take a minimum of 2 exams and a maximum of 4 exams if you reside in Catalonia or Navarra.
