WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA PROCESSING?

FOR WHAT PURPOSES WILL THE DATA BE PROCESSED?

The personal data provided through the website will be processed by UIE for the following purposes:

Provide personalized information about courses, training programs, events organized by UIE or in collaboration with third parties; information about services, events, and relevant news, through the sending of commercial communications via electronic and traditional means.
Manage the admission procedure, as well as any tests that may eventually arise in connection with the aforementioned student admission processes, which may even include the creation of profiles, the latter in the event that the User completes any of the admission forms.

Manage registration for the corresponding event, when requested. In this regard, attendees are informed that UIE reserves the right to take photographs and videos of individuals attending events organized or developed with their participation, solely for the purpose of promoting the event. If you do not wish your image to be used for this purpose, it is recommended not to participate in photo or video shoots associated with the event.

WHAT USER DATA WILL BE PROCESSED?

UIE will request appropriate, relevant, and non-excessive data according to the intended purpose, indicating at all times whether the data must be provided on a mandatory or optional basis.

Depending on the request made through the website, its forms, or any other means, the following categories of data will be requested:

Identification data: name, surname, ID, image.
Contact data: postal address, email address, phone number.
Personal characteristics data: date of birth, gender, and nationality.
Social circumstances data: hobbies, lifestyle, marital status, etc.
Employment details data: job position and company worked for.
Academic and professional data.
Economic and financial data.
In the case of providing third-party data, the user confirms that they have the consent of the individuals concerned and undertake to convey to them the information contained in the corresponding privacy notices, specifically the statements of this Policy.

LEGAL BASES FOR DATA PROCESSING

In accordance with the treatments carried out on the website, we inform you below of the legal bases for each of them:

Consent: It will be duly obtained to initiate the admission process of the user in any of the existing training processes, for the subscription to our newsletters and news, as well as to give a timely response to all questions or inquiries made by Users.

Consent can always be revoked and withdrawn at any time. However, if consent is withdrawn, it will not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

The consents obtained for the mentioned purposes are independent, so one of them may be revoked without affecting the others.

Performance of a contract: This legal basis will apply to data provided in the enrollment processes, once the user has acquired the status of student as well as the data provided subsequently.

Legitimate interest: According to this legal basis, commercial communications may be sent based on users’ tastes and interests.

DATA RETENTION PERIODS

The retention periods will be as follows, depending on the purpose for which the data are intended:

Academic programs: Data will be processed to process the registration and subsequent management of the selected program, as well as to provide notifications related to it.

Furthermore, this data will be processed until the student completes their training period and, subsequently, for the period expressly provided by current education legislation, for the purposes of accrediting the training provided and issued certificates.

Events, courses, and talks: Data will be processed from the time the user submits their request until the event, course, or talk takes place, and for information requests and communication, until the User withdraws consent, which can be granted as many times as desired. In each communication, the user will find a free and accessible procedure to manage it.

DATA COMMUNICATIONS

In the realm of service provision, UIE may share student data from courses or training programs with entities that are, where applicable, related to UIE for the purpose of conducting the course or program, which at times may be considered an essential requirement for effective enrollment.

Furthermore, data may be communicated to specific government agencies for official title management, as well as to those necessary for the potential processing of grants or assistance.

Aside from what is indicated here, personal information provided to UIE will not be disclosed to third parties, except when disclosure is required by current legislation, by court order, or by a competent authority, as well as when necessary data must be communicated for logical reasons related to service provision, or when expressly requested with the User’s consent. UIE may communicate the essential data and information of the User to companies/organizations associated with the purchase and/or provision of the service, if it is necessary for said companies/organizations to get in touch with the User.

EXERCISE OF RIGHTS

Users have the right to access their personal data, as well as to request the correction of inaccurate data or, if applicable, request their deletion when, among other reasons, the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Under certain circumstances, individuals may request the restriction of data processing or object to the processing thereof, in which case UIE will only retain the data for the exercise or defense of claims. In the event that you wish to exercise the right to data portability, this information will be provided to the new Data Controller.
